Mercury

  • Mercury is the first planet in the solar system.
  • The distance from the Sun is 77.3 Million km.
  • Mass 33,022 x 10^23 kg.
  • Diameter is 4,880 km.
  • Rotation 59 days
  • Revolution 88 days
  • Mercury has no moons
  • Terrestrial
  • Planet Description
    • Mercury has no true atmosphere and it is the closest planet to the Sun ,also this planet is covered in craters, these are caused by the meteorites and asteroids that hit the planet.
    •  If you were to stand on Mercury, the Sun would appear two and a half times bigger than what it looks like from Earth.                                                                               PLANET FACTS
      • Mercury was named after a Roman god.
      • Is the second smallest planet.
      • Mercury has the largest eccentricity, it has 0.206.

    The Earth

-The Earth is the third planet according with the sun.
-It have a distance of 150 million km form the Sun.
-The mas is of 1.00 km
    -The diameter is the 12,756km
    -The rotation is 24 hours
-The Earth revolution is the 365 days
    - It have just one moon
    - Earth is a terrestrial planet

The Earth is situated in the third place according to the Sun and is the fifth largest in the Solar System. Earth is the only planet that have oceans of liquid water and support life, it has moderate temperature and an atmosphere that contain air.
The Earth is a beautiful planet and is the only one planet that have an atmosphere that cause most meteors to burn up before they reach the surface helping to protect life-forms from meteors and the effects of the Sun's intense radiation.

    Hurricane Irene Project

    Critical Thinking

    1. What time if the year do hurricanes occur? Why do they only happen during that time?

The hurricanes use to happen in the summer between June and November must commonly. They just use to happen on this time because the temperature is warm and helps the hurricane to get stronger, help it for the strong wind, the warm water of the ocean and the waves.

    2. How can the timing of the tides (high or low) effect the devastation of a hurricane?

If the tide is higher the hurricane is going to cause more damage. The water of the ocean is already up so when the hurricane come, the water is going to increase even more than the usually.

    3. If an area is fully saturated, will a hurricane have more or less impact on a area?

The hurricane is going to affect more that zone because the water ground is completely full, so the water it doesn't have a place to go, so the flooding are must probably to happen. When the precipitation or rain happen, the water is not going to have any place to go.

    4. How does ground water saturation affect rivers and streams?

The water ground saturation affect rivers and streams because the groundwater is full, so the water of the precipitation that has send rain, snow, in a big amounts, so the water would start going to the rivers and streams.

    Reflection

    1. What is something that you liked about this Mini-Project?

I really liked the way in which we can created a site in the internet and use and make it cooler.

2.What was difficult for you in this project?

Actually all this project it doesn't was hard for me because i already know something about this topics, but the only thing that i get complicated is to answer the question of my Critical thinking.

3.What would you change about your work on this project?

I would change the way in wich I answer the Critical thinking making it better to understand.

4How did this project help you learn about Hurricane Irene?

I have learned how the hurricanes are formed, what are the effects, what cause the hurricanes and how they can affect our lifes.
